Off the $5.83 high. 3 · PTC +33.8% - $192.69 | Nasdaq GS - Schneider $205 cash, $23.7B, close by Q3 2027 (SeekingAlpha 01:51 ET). About $12.31 under cash vs about $9 pre-bell. THE SIGNAL Expensive money is now charging deals for time. Schneider's $205 cash bid for PTC still cleared, but the gap to that price widened from about $9 pre-bell to about $12. With yields at a two-decade high, waiting until Q3 2027 on a debt-funded buyer costs more, and PTC holders now own a spread, not a software stock. Brazil fintechs repriced on a vote count instead, and they carry that bet into the Oct 25 runoff. Exposed next session: PTC spread holders, XP, STNE, PAGS and INTR, and anyone who bought PCVX near its open. Wrong if: PTC's gap to $205 narrows while yields keep climbing, or XP gives back its $25.84 open. |

HEADLINE OF THE DAY “Brazilian fintech stocks surge as Bolsonaro's lead puts Brazil on track to shift right” SeekingAlpha via QuoteMedia | Oct 5, 2026 11:16 ET Sunday's first round printed Flavio Bolsonaro near 47% versus Lula near 45%. The runoff is Sun Oct 25. XP, STNE, PAGS, and INTR are now priced for a Bolsonaro win, a binary into the second round. |
ONE TO WATCH XP · Fed September-meeting minutes Wed Oct 7. Brazil presidential runoff Sun Oct 25. Last $28.54, +32.7%. Does XP hold its $25.84 opening print through Wednesday's Fed minutes, or does the runoff bet leak before Oct 25? |
