KEY TAKES

AMD is +5.3% as of 1:25 PM ET after agreeing to put $1 billion into Meta's equity offering (The Fly 9:27 AM ET). Chips led for a second day after Monday's Anthropic IPO filing, and Meta, the company selling the stock, is -1.15%. QQQ is +1.22% and DIA +0.05%, and AP noted most S&P 500 stocks were down even with the index up.

Oil slipped on hopes for Middle East talks (USO -1.5%, XLE -2.0%). The 10-year yield sits near 4.99% and gold is +1.2%. Outside tech, earnings moved stocks: SoFi +15% on record Q3 revenue and a raised outlook, Kiniksa +23% on Q3 Arcalyst sales.

TODAY'S TOP 5 GAINERS

1 · BRAI +88.2% · $3.99. Force AI add-on for its Radius contact-center platform (MT Newswires Oct 26 10:05 AM ET), still running a day later. Noise: a product add-on with no revenue number.

2 · AIOK +45.5% · $13.33. Still running Friday's $3.50 special cash dividend (The Fly Oct 23 9:35 AM ET) and an $18M LPG carrier sale. Microcap noise. No new news today.

3 · NUWE +44.7% · $4.48. Pediatric Aquadex study accepted in Pediatric Nephrology (GlobeNewswire 8:00 AM ET). Noise: a journal acceptance on a ~$16M company.

4 · AEYE +35.4% · $10.05. Q3 earnings and revenue beat estimates (Zacks Oct 26 4:20 PM ET). The only one of the five with numbers behind it.

5 · MFIC +24.0% · $10.36. Ares Capital agreed to buy it at $10.88 a share in stock and cash (MT Newswires 6:46 AM ET). Deal stock, about 52 cents under the offer.

THE SIGNAL

The market paid the supplier writing the check and charged the spender selling stock: AMD up, Meta down, on the same deal. The S&P is green while most of its members are red (AP), so this is a narrow, tech-only tape heading into Big Tech earnings and Wednesday's Fed decision. Exposed: anyone reading the S&P gain as broad strength, and the AI spenders that have to show this week that the capex is paying off.

Wrong if: SOXX gives back more than half of its 3.7% gain into the bell, or if Meta turns green while AMD fades.

HEADLINE OF THE DAY

“AMD and Meta Advance Strategic Partnership to Power Meta's Superintelligence Infrastructure”

GlobeNewswire | Oct 27, 9:20 AM ET

Read it as a supplier buying a bigger seat at its biggest customer's table. The buyer of the shares is up, the seller is down, and chips pulled QQQ higher while the Dow sat flat into the final hour.

ONE TO WATCH

NXPI (NXP Semiconductors) reports Q3 at 4:10 PM ET today, after the bell, with the call at 4:30 PM ET. Last $251.03, +2.11% as of 1:25 PM ET, a day after signing a microcontroller deal for Volkswagen's software-defined vehicle architecture (MT Newswires Oct 26). It's the first chip report since this two-day rally, and NXP sells into cars and factories, not AI data centers. Its guide shows whether the chip bid reaches past AI.
