The government just argued your money isn’t yours.
Here’s how to fight back.

The Department of Justice just argued in court that cash isn’t property, which would let the government seize it.

That argument opens the door for Washington to freeze accounts and confiscate savings. History shows that when governments go broke, they take from the people.

That’s why a growing number of Americans are moving part of their wealth out of the system. This information kit lays out 3 strategies you can put in place starting today, so someone else doesn’t control your money tomorrow.

Futures are flat to start the heaviest earnings week of the season, with Microsoft, Alphabet, Meta, Apple and Amazon all reporting and the Fed deciding Wednesday. SPY, QQQ and IWM are all up less than 0.1% (~07:25 ET), oil is lower (USO -2.5%) and Apple is down 1.2%.

THE HEADLINE THAT MATTERS TODAY

Surgery Partners is up 25% before the bell on a reported $20 a share buyout. It already trades within pennies of that price.

MT Newswires via QuoteMedia · Oct 26, 2026 03:34 ET, citing the Financial Times. “Surgery Partners Nears Go-Private Takeover by Bon Secours”

Nonprofit hospital operator Bon Secours Mercy Health is in late-stage talks to take a majority stake in Surgery Partners (SGRY) at about $20 a share, a deal worth roughly $6 billion including debt. Bain Capital would keep its nearly 40% stake. Neither company commented to MT Newswires, and the report is unconfirmed.

Who’s exposed: Anyone chasing SGRY near $19.71. With the stock about 1.5% under the reported price, most of the gain is already in, and the risk sits on the talks failing.

Next: A signed agreement or a company statement. Mega-cap earnings start rolling in this week and the Fed decision is Wednesday, Oct 28.

Wrong if: SGRY trades above $20. That would say buyers expect a higher bid or a rival offer.

TOP PRE-MARKET MOVERS

1 · RENT +37% ($3.15). Rent the Runway jumped after Friday SEC filings showed three investment firms raised their stakes (MT Newswires).

2 · YMAT +20% ($2.45). J-Star Holding filed its first-half results after Friday’s close (GlobeNewswire).

3 · CLRO +14% ($3.72). ClearOne is moving on heavy volume with no fresh company release. It hit a 52-week low on Oct 19.

Prices ~07:25 ET. Small floats: RENT about $106 million, YMAT and CLRO about $10 million each. A gap without news fades often. Size accordingly.
