In 2016, $5,000 in one stock
became a $1.89M nest egg.

Jeff Brown picked Nvidia before its 37,800% run. Now he says a little-known company tied to Elon Musk could be the next one-stock retirement play, and he wants readers in before November 11.

KEY TAKES

THE CLOSE

Meta beat on revenue and still fell 7%, and the selling hit everything paid by AI spending. Lam Research (−11.8%), SpaceX (−9.1%), Intel (−8.0%), Micron (−6.3%) and Nvidia (−4.4%) led it down. Money moved to Treasuries (TLT +1.87%), banks (XLF +1.09%) and Spotify (+11.1% on margins). SPY closed 763.96 (−1.18%), QQQ 704.47 (−2.86%), DIA 527.89 (+0.04%), IWM 276.67 (+0.07%).

Did the 3 PM read hold? Yes. Chips didn't bounce: SOXX finished −6.8%, a little worse than its −6.2% at 1:18 PM ET. Friday's close is the real test.

AFTER THE BELL

BE earned $0.94 a share vs $0.69 expected on $1.24B revenue ($1.07B expected), and guided 2026 revenue to $4.4B-$4.6B vs FactSet $4.12B. It still traded near $207 after hours vs a $217.77 close, after an 8.7% drop in the session.

WDC earned $4.64 a share, $0.54 above forecasts, on $4.38B revenue. It guided next quarter to about $5.10B revenue and $5.80 EPS vs $4.82 consensus. It traded near $352 after hours vs a $354.19 close.

NEM beat ($2.20 vs $1.94 EPS, revenue $6.36B) and kept its 5.3M-ounce gold target. It closed $114.11 (−2.6%) with gold down 2.6%, then traded near $115.48 after hours.

TOMORROW'S SETUP

Before the open. American Express, SLB, Infosys and Eni report: card spending, oil services and IT outsourcing.

9:45 AM ET. Flash manufacturing and services PMIs for October, forecast 55.3 and 58.0.

10:00 AM ET. University of Michigan final sentiment, forecast 46.3 vs 48.1 prior.

Next week. The Fed announces its rate decision Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 2:00 PM ET.

ONE TO WATCH TOMORROW

SOXX closed $475.69 (−6.8%) even though Meta's own Q4 guide was fine. The tell: if chips recover half of today's drop by Friday's close (about $493), this was a one-day flush. If they stay under it, the market is repricing AI spending.
