If he could own only one AI stock,
a former tech executive says this is the one.

Jeff Brown picked Nvidia in 2016. His new pick is about the size Nvidia was then, already has deals with OpenAI, Amazon, Microsoft and AMD, and is sold out into 2027. Wall Street projects its sales will triple next year.

KEY TAKES

  • Chips led a second straight day after Anthropic's IPO filing. SOXX +3.91%, AMD +5.45% (putting $1B into Meta's stock offering), AVGO +4.0% (helped arrange a $63B bank deal for Anthropic to buy its chips), ALAB +10.47%. Meta, the one raising money, fell 1.64%. Nasdaq +1.2% to 26,477.81, S&P 500 +0.6% to 7,722.60.
  • Boeing fell 10.69% to $168.18, worst day since April 2025, and held the Dow to +0.03% (52,377.57): it will miss 737 delivery targets this year, the 47-a-month rate slipped to early 2027, with 2027 free cash flow near $3B vs about $5.5B expected.

THE CLOSE

SPY closed 769.66 (+0.56%), QQQ 721.25 (+1.27%), DIA 523.28 (+0.06%), IWM 280.18 (+1.15%). The money went to the chip suppliers. Energy and refiners lagged (XLE -2.05%, Valero -9.24%) as oil slipped (USO -1.41%), and gold rose (GLD +1.21%). On earnings, SoFi +13.42%, UPS +5.75% and Coca-Cola -1.64%. TSLA added 4.04%. The Fed's two-day meeting began.

Did the 3 PM read hold? Yes. The 3 PM call was that the market was paying chip suppliers and charging AI spenders, wrong if SOXX gave back half its gain or Meta turned green. SOXX ended +3.91%, above +3.68% at the 1:25 PM read, and Meta ended -1.64%.

AFTER THE BELL

NXPI down about 7% after hours. Q3 beat (adj EPS $4.20 vs $4.11, revenue $3.79B, +19%), Q4 guide midpoint below the $3.86B consensus. The first non-AI chip report says the chip bid is not broad.

STX down about 8% even after beating, Q2 guide $9.00-$9.40 vs $8.61.

HOOD down 3.5%. EPS beat ($0.60 vs $0.55), revenue $1.42B missed $1.43B.
