Could a single stock fund a retirement?
Jeff Brown thinks he found one.

He calls it Elon Musk's one-stock retirement plan. It's not Tesla or SpaceX. It's a little-known company whose technology he says turns out intelligence up to 1,000 times faster than regular AI, and he explains why November 11 matters.

KEY TAKES

The money that left tech found other homes. Drugmakers, power companies and grocery-aisle stocks all rose in a week when chips gave back a big run: XLV +3.12%, XLU +2.04%, XLP +1.31%, XLF +1.09% and XLE +1.00%.

One stock did most of the lifting in healthcare, and it's the biggest one in the group. Gold went the other way, with GLD down 2.95% for the week.

THE CHASE

Lilly reported Thursday morning. Third-quarter revenue came in at $24.4 billion, up 39%, against $22.61 billion expected, and adjusted EPS was $7.48 against $6.26 (LSEG, via Reuters). The 2026 revenue range went to $91 billion to $92 billion, up from $85 billion to $87 billion.

The stock rose 6.63% Thursday to $1,373.70, then 3.19% more Friday to $1,417.54, trading as high as $1,449.68. Zepbound and Mounjaro carried it, with Mounjaro alone at $10.72 billion for the quarter. Lilly said a Medicare obesity-drug pilot that started in July added more than 500,000 new customers.

It wasn't a clean print. Foundayo, the new obesity pill, missed sales estimates by about $30 million, and the profit range was trimmed to $35 to $36 a share because of deal charges. Buyers looked past both. Who's exposed: Novo Nordisk, the other big name in these drugs, which reports Wednesday. NVO rose 2.43% to $40.00 for the week.

Wrong if: Lilly closes back under $1,373.70, Thursday's close, before Novo reports Wednesday morning.

HEADLINE OF THE WEEK

“Eli Lilly lifts revenue outlook as weight-loss shot demand soars, shares jump”

Reuters | Oct 29, 6:46 AM ET

In a week when soft outlooks sank Intel and Alphabet, a big raise did the opposite at a company Reuters put at $1.2 trillion. Lilly was up only 1.2% for the week going into Thursday, so nearly the whole move came off one report. The raise came from the shots, while the pill lagged.

ONE TO WATCH MONDAY

Eli Lilly (LLY) ended Friday at $1,417.54 after two days that added about 10%. Monday it has to hold the bid with ISM manufacturing at 10:00 AM ET and Apple and Palantir after the close pulling eyes back to tech. Thursday's close of $1,373.70 is the line to watch.

WEEK AHEAD

Pfizer reports Tuesday before the open and Amgen after the close, on Election Day. Novo Nordisk follows Wednesday morning, and the October jobs report lands Friday at 8:30 AM ET. Futures reopen at 6 PM ET Sunday.
