He bought one stock Friday around 3 PM,
then didn't check it again until Monday.

Tim Sykes says some small stocks sit unpriced over the weekend when news breaks late Friday, because Wall Street isn't watching them. His short video shows how he looks for these setups, step by step.

WHAT BROKE

Beating the estimate was not enough this week. Stocks priced for a lot got punished for anything less than everything. Prices below run from the Oct 16 close to the Oct 23 close.

Carpenter Technology (CRS): $376.89 to $284.66, −24.5%. Thursday Oct 22, Q1 EPS $3.25 beat $3.04, sales $798.5 million missed about $831 million, and cash flow after capital spending came in negative about $25 million. It fell 20.6% that day to $292.26.

LKQ Corp (LKQ): $22.23 to $17.42, −21.6%. Friday Oct 23, preliminary Q3 adjusted EPS of $0.47 to $0.53 missed about $0.69, and Europe's margin roughly halved. It withdrew 2026 guidance and the CEO left the same day. The stock fell 22.5% Friday.

Comfort Systems USA (FIX): $1,439.07 to $1,160.86, −19.3%. Thursday's Q3: EPS $13.91 vs $12.81, revenue $3.77 billion vs $3.39 billion, record backlog $17.81 billion. No formal outlook. CFO Bill George is retiring. It fell 8.7% Thursday with the chip selloff and 9.3% more Friday.

THE LESSON

When a stock is priced for a lot, the guidance line and the cash flow line matter more than the headline beat. FIX beat every number and still lost 19% after giving no outlook. LKQ pulled its outlook. When the outlook goes quiet, the market prices the worst case first.

ONE TO WATCH MONDAY

Cadence Design Systems (CDNS) closed Friday at $316.49, −0.95% on the week. It reports after Monday's close, webcast 5:00 PM ET. The tell: does Cadence reaffirm or raise its full-year outlook, and does backlog top the $8.1 billion record? A silent or trimmed outlook is the risk, not the quarter.

SHH. THIS IS A CLUB.

You get the recap because you open and click. Go quiet and your chair goes to someone who reads. See you Monday.
