Of the 162,000 jobs added in August, women accounted for about 158,000.

CNBC analysis of Friday's BLS report.

Men: about 4,000 net. That is not a rounding error, that is 98% of a month's hiring going one direction. Nobody has a clean explanation yet. Healthcare and services skew one way, construction and manufacturing skew the other, and one month is one month. But it is the kind of number that, if it repeats in October, becomes a story about which half of the economy is actually hiring.

Quick question for the cooler: if the headline number tripled consensus and the market still sold it, what does a number that looks like this do to the Fed on the 16th? We do not know either. That is why it is a holiday.

Musk's 2.1 trillion parameter model ships. Third frontier Grok in about two months. SPCX trades it. So do the power and memory names underneath it.
WED SEP 16  Fed decision
Next week, but everything this week is priced against it. Hike or hold. CPI on the 11th is the last real input.
