TOGETHER WITH BROWNSTONE RESEARCH · (Ad) If he had to put everything in one AI stock, Jeff Brown says this is the one. The former tech executive says this little-known company already has deals with OpenAI, Amazon, Microsoft, IBM and AMD, and is sold out into 2027. Wall Street projects its sales could triple next year. See the name and why he calls it Elon Musk's One Stock Retirement Plan.

KEY TAKES

Buyers paid cash premiums for smaller companies last week. Chip holders did not get that bid. Merck KGaA agreed Monday to buy Silence Therapeutics for $20 cash per ADS (SLN +125.6% to $19.58). Salesforce agreed Tuesday to buy Braze for $47.50 cash, about $5.66 billion (BRZE +51.7% to $45.57 from $30.04). Thursday's chip selloff took SOX down 6.7%, the worst day since June 23 (Reuters). Friday, Brent hit $116.72 after Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia, and DIA lost 1.24% on the day.
For the week, IWM led at +1.96% and value beat growth for a third straight week (T. Rowe Price weekly).

THE WEEK'S TOP 5
1 · AIOK +186.2% · $12.02. Special $3.50 dividend (record Nov 2, paid about Nov 25) after the $18 million Dream Arrax sale (GlobeNewswire Oct 23). Tiny float, about 4.3 million shares. Noise-prone.
2 · SLN +126.6% · $19.67. Merck KGaA cash bid Monday at $20.00 per ADS, a 130% premium, close expected Q1 2027 (8-K Oct 19).
3 · BETR +68.0% · $16.72. Founder Vishal Garg regained the board Oct 5, then cost cuts and a $30 million buyback. Ran from $10.53 Monday to $16.72 Friday. Noise-prone.
4 · BOLT +56.8% · $6.27. Reverse merger with Prana Therapies plus a $120 million private placement Friday. Old holders keep about 6.9% (GlobeNewswire / TipRanks Oct 23). Noise-prone.
5 · BRZE +56.4% · $45.88. Salesforce cash bid Tuesday at $47.50 a share, about $5.66 billion, close expected in Salesforce fiscal 2028 (CNBC Oct 20).
Noise: The rest of the 50%+ weekly list is thin, recent-listing tape (SAIQ, listed Oct 2, then a $10 million PIPE; sub-$3 names YHC, RENT, STAK, WORX). Treat as noise.

THE WEEK'S SIGNAL
Two big buyers paid cash premiums for smaller companies (Merck KGaA 130% for Silence, Salesforce about 58% for Braze) in the same week chips lost 3.08% and Meta led an AI selloff. Money went to small caps (IWM +1.96%) and energy (XLE +1.60%), not to the big AI trade. Who's exposed: holders crowded in large-cap AI chip names. Small-cap holders got the takeover bids and the value tilt.
Wrong if: IWM gives back last week's 1.96% gain before the Wed Oct 28 Fed decision (2:00 PM ET).

HEADLINE OF THE WEEK
“Salesforce to acquire Braze in $5.66 billion deal”
CNBC | Oct 20, 9:34 AM ET
Braze holders get $47.50 cash a share versus a $30.04 Monday close. A buyer paid a premium for AI marketing software while investors were fretting over software valuations (Fast Company). By Friday Braze sat at $45.88, $1.62 under the offer.

THE TAPE LESSON
A cash deal caps the stock. After the announcement day, Silence moved from $19.58 to $19.67 and Braze from $45.57 to $45.88. What's left between price and offer (33 cents on Silence, $1.62 on Braze) is pay for waiting and for the risk the deal breaks. On a weekly gainers list, a capped deal stock and a special-dividend spike like AI OKTO are different animals: the first has a known ceiling, the second gives part of its move back once the payout leaves the price.
