KEY TAKES

THE CLOSE

Raised guidance got paid and trimmed guidance got sold, even on a beat. Bonds bounced (TLT +0.84%); chips slipped (SOXX −0.38%). SPY closed 769.05 (+0.34%), QQQ 717.63 (−0.10%), DIA 524.36 (+1.05%), IWM 275.78 (+1.66%).

Did the 3 PM read hold? Held. IWM +1.66% vs QQQ −0.10%.

AFTER THE BELL

ISRG, the 3 PM watch, beat on EPS ($3.00 vs $2.65) and revenue but narrowed procedure growth to 14%-15% from 13.5%-15.5%, so the top end came down. It also settled an antitrust suit for $450M and traded near $397 after hours vs a $438 close.

NFLX: 2026 revenue $51.1B vs FactSet $51.21B, ad revenue $2.7B vs about $3B, traded near $65.50 after hours.

SPCX revenue $14.6B vs FactSet $12.9B, EPS 35c vs 16c. It dipped to $145.88, then traded near $152 after hours.

TOMORROW'S SETUP

Before the open. AT&T, Abbott, Danaher, Elevance, and CME report Q3. Same test: raised or trimmed outlook?

10:30 AM ET. EIA petroleum status report. WTI is still near $103, and a stock draw keeps that pressure on.

1:00 PM ET. $13 billion 20-year Treasury auction. A weak bid would test the bounce after Monday's 10-year jump to 5.14%.

After the close. TSLA and META report Q3. Meta consensus revenue $63.34B, EPS near $6.59. Capex and the revenue guide are the swing.

ONE TO WATCH TOMORROW

TSLA closed $373.71 (+1.54%) and reports Wednesday after the close. Consensus EPS about $0.45, revenue about $27.9B. Energy storage margin and the capex outlook decide the read. The tell: does the outlook hold, or does a fine quarter get sold on the guide like Netflix tonight?
